Thought on the game

Looking back, I like what I did for this jam.

The game design works as well as I was expecting it to. it is far from perfect, of course, but it does challenge players with interesting decision on average. It is a Solitaire Game that would be unpractical in physical form but that function in video game form.

I've not added all the rules I wanted, but that is what I liked about this game idea, it is extensible. I could later add more rules for more variety. for instance, I've not used the sigiles or the number enough. I was thinking about rules in the style of "same signes should be stacked" or "Cards above 5 must be covered".

But time in a jam is precious and the last hours was spent on making the animations and integrating the cool visuals made by Camille.
I could not add everything though. The game could have been prettier and more understandable. for one, I'de like to rewrite all the rules so the injunctions are consistants.

On a technical side, I'm so glad I've looked at butler for uploading the game to itch... it made the thing so easy! just a two line .bat and I could upload build on a steady rate. This helped me a lot to give testable version early. I think in preparation for the next jam, I might integrate it in unity.

Also, shape by Freya Holmer is really good.

Wait, were you able to get Shapes to actually work in browser? If you could, contact me on Twitter @Qazik11. Thanks. I've been struggling with that for like a week!

I don't have access to my computer right now but yes, it worked pretty much out of the box I think.
